A Solid, Good Remote for a Fair Price
Review of Logitech Harmony 550 Advanced Universal Remote Infrared by KAS32

Advantages: Design and button layout
Disadvantages: Complex Initial Set-up

This Logitech Harmony 550 remote, though not inexpensive, is a valuable product that's done a more than adequate job at my home for all my universal remote needs. This remote was not as "user friendly" as I would have liked for initial set-up purposes and I needed to contact Customer Service to discuss one code that I couldn't find or figure out when initially programming my remote for all my home devices, but the Customer Service rep / tech was ...
...In general, I didn't know much about the Logitech brand, other than their prominent brand position with wireless mouses, so I considered this somewhat risky on my part, but I have not been disappointed at all with it's overall performance, sleek design and Customer Service associated with the brand/company. ... Remote is worth it
Review of Philips Prestigo SRU8010 Universal remote control by stonecold

Advantages: controls everything, easy to use
Disadvantages: price

I bought this remote and it really does do wonders. It controls more than my tv. I can use it on my vcr and dvd player as well and it is great. That way I only have one remote laying around the house. It works really good and I have never had any complaints out of it. I just love it because the fact that it can work all my needs at once with out switching remotes. It may cost a pretty penny but it is so worth the price. My batteries don't even go ... Read review

Well, I have and I have failed miserably at it. Thus leading me to this compact device remote. One for all, Access 4, is the way to go, if you have answered yes to my first question. This remote is one of the first to combine access to all your electronics, well, at least four of them. ...

An unclutterer's dream
Review of Logitech Harmony 520 Advanced Universal Remote Universal remote control by spickles

Advantages: all-in-one, good battery life, easy to use & program
Disadvantages: often takes several seconds to turn on all devices

I hate clutter, so I am a fan of any device that helps simplify your life. I haven't had to touch my other remotes since I programmed this one - a big plus in my opinion. My only complaint is that the remote is a little "sensitive" - you have to keep the remote pointed at all the systems for about 10 seconds so that it can turn on all the devices. While this doesn't sound like a long time, it's an eternity to stand there holding a device still so ... Read review

Essential Nikon kit
Review of Nikon ML L3 Remote control by klashar

Advantages: Small, instant and 2 sec options on Nikons
Disadvantages: -

...this remote control for my Nikon D40x, which according to the man in the shop it is the only one available for the my camera. Long gone are the days of physical remote shutter releases, modern ones like this one are infra-red. The ML L3 is Nikon only. As you can see from the pictures, it is very small, works outside fine and has a decent range. One thing I particularly like is the way the Nikon uses it, you can set it to release the shutter instantly, ...
...a picture rather than risk moving the camera as I press the shutter release on the body. So there you are, there isn't much more to say except go and buy one! It's cheap, works, is fun and will get you all together on more pictures. Essential Nikon kit. ... Read review
