A Solid, Good Remote for a Fair Price
Review of Logitech Harmony 550 Advanced Universal Remote Infrared by KAS32

Advantages: Design and button layout
Disadvantages: Complex Initial Set-up

This Logitech Harmony 550 remote, though not inexpensive, is a valuable product that's done a more than adequate job at my home for all my universal remote needs. This remote was not as "user friendly" as I would have liked for initial set-up purposes and I needed to contact Customer Service to discuss one code that I couldn't find or figure out when initially programming my remote for all my home devices, but the Customer Service rep / tech was ...
...In general, I didn't know much about the Logitech brand, other than their prominent brand position with wireless mouses, so I considered this somewhat risky on my part, but I have not been disappointed at all with it's overall performance, sleek design and Customer Service associated with the brand/company. ... Essential Nikon kit
Review of Nikon ML L3 Remote control by klashar

Advantages: Small, instant and 2 sec options on Nikons
Disadvantages: -

...this remote control for my Nikon D40x, which according to the man in the shop it is the only one available for the my camera. Long gone are the days of physical remote shutter releases, modern ones like this one are infra-red. The ML L3 is Nikon only. As you can see from the pictures, it is very small, works outside fine and has a decent range. One thing I particularly like is the way the Nikon uses it, you can set it to release the shutter instantly, ...
...a picture rather than risk moving the camera as I press the shutter release on the body. So there you are, there isn't much more to say except go and buy one! It's cheap, works, is fun and will get you all together on more pictures. Essential Nikon kit. ... Read review

expensive remote
Review of Logitech Harmony 670 Advanced Universal Remote Universal remote control by stonecold

Advantages: works good, lots of features, operates lots of things
Disadvantages: very expensive

My friend paid a lot of money for this remote but it does really work very good. You can program a lot of different kind of devices to it and just use this one remote. That is the thing that I really like about it. I don't have lots of remotes laying around the hose for my little on to get a hold of them. It works really well. It only uses two batteries and they last for a very long time before you have to get them replace. It is very easy to use ... Read review

Worth the price you pay for it
Review of RCA RCU800B SUPER VALUE PACK! Infrared by cindy98989

Advantages: One remote for all of your electronics
Disadvantages: loses programmed settings from time to time

I have had this remote for just about 5 months now. I've had to reprogram it atleast 6 times. I still can't figure out why it keeps losing the codes, the batteries are strong. I had no problems programming it with my TV, Cable box, DVD player and VCR. One word of advice, you need to turn the product you just programmed off and back on again before going to the next product to program. If you don't, everything else you put in there won't work. I learned ...
...from time to time (seems to be if you drop the remote or press a certain button on it...everything vanishes) I think this is pretty good for the cheap price you pay for it. I got mine for 9.99 at a Dollar General store. It sure does save time and confusion from having to operate 4 different remote controls and keeping track of them all, plus the price of good batteries! ... Read review
