Advantages: works good, lots of features, operates lots of things Disadvantages: very expensive
My friend paid a lot of money for this remote but it does really work very good. You can program a lot of different kind of devices to it and just use this one remote. That is the thing that I really like about it. I don't have lots of remotes laying around the hose for my little on to get a hold of them. It works really well. It only uses two batteries and they last for a very long time before you have to get them replace. It is very easy to use ...

Advantages: Design and button layout Disadvantages: Complex Initial Set-up
This Logitech Harmony 550 remote, though not inexpensive, is a valuable product that's done a more than adequate job at my home for all my universal remote needs. This remote was not as "user friendly" as I would have liked for initial set-up purposes and I needed to contact Customer Service to discuss one code that I couldn't find or figure out when initially programming my remote for all my home devices, but the Customer Service rep / tech was ... ...In general, I didn't know much about the Logitech brand, other than their prominent brand position with wireless mouses, so I considered this somewhat risky on my part, but I have not been disappointed at all with it's overall performance, sleek design and Customer Service associated with the brand/company. ...

Advantages: One remote for all of your electronics Disadvantages: loses programmed settings from time to time
I have had this remote for just about 5 months now. I've had to reprogram it atleast 6 times. I still can't figure out why it keeps losing the codes, the batteries are strong. I had no problems programming it with my TV, Cable box, DVD player and VCR. One word of advice, you need to turn the product you just programmed off and back on again before going to the next product to program. If you don't, everything else you put in there won't work. I learned ... ...from time to time (seems to be if you drop the remote or press a certain button on it...everything vanishes) I think this is pretty good for the cheap price you pay for it. I got mine for 9.99 at a Dollar General store. It sure does save time and confusion from having to operate 4 different remote controls and keeping track of them all, plus the price of good batteries! ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: hard to program, not worth any money
I use to have this kind of remote and it did not work well at all. i had alot of problems out of it. It didn't want to take my codes to program my other devices in to it. It was easy to work after every thing finally got programed in but it took a very long time for this. I have never had so many problems with any kind of remote. It is very cheap and maybe that is why it did not do as well in working the different devices. The sound didn't even want ...
