I received this fondue set as a gift. I wasn't too sure about it, but I've learned to love it. The pot is enameled cast iron, and the base and legs are cast iron as well. Very heavy! It also comes with everything you need for a fondue party EXCEPT for the fuel, which can be found easily at any kitchen store.
The pot can also be used separately, which I have done. It's basically a small enameled cast iron pot, you can use it on your stovetop or in your oven. It keeps the heat really well, and I would recommend heating the pot and your fondue ingredients before using it for fondue. I've used mine as a serving dish. It is also really easy to clean. The base is also really nice to prevent ruining your tabletop.
My only complaint is that it's orange and doesn't exactly match my decor. Other than that, it's a great set!
