ya !!!!!!!! this is the world's fastest processor present till now . this can be overclocked to any of the processing speed , it boasts of a jumbo 12 mb L2 cache which boosts its performance.
the best things i liked in this ::
1.its processing speeds are blazingly fast
2.this is the best desktop processor one can get till date 3.it supports all types of latest ddr3 rams and any type of hardcore hardware present ... ...it:::
1.the only thing i didn't liked about it is that its a bit too costly for its performance . one can get an amd phenom for one fifth the price.

Advantages: Cheap and tolerable to overclocking Disadvantages: No obvious shortcoming
...the overall performance of this Intel chip when I first received it from my supplier. Installed it into my X38 motherboard without much issue and booted up nicely. After some adjustments to the front side bus (FSB) and CPU clock multiplier and confirmed that it could sustain 1600MHz FSB with easy! That was 400MHz X 9 = 3.6GHz! Of course it will need some tweaks to the CPU core, DRAM and northbridge voltages, but it worth the efforts. 3.6GHz compared ... ...of 50%! This is one of the most overclockable chips that I have ever tested. However, due to the fact that it is still based on 65nm technology, it needs slightly higher CPU core voltage and especially in overclock mode. Proper cooling is absolutely needed for the overclocked speed in order to achieve stable condition. The safest setting at least from my point of view would be the moderate 333MHz FSB X 9 = 3.0GHz. Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3,16 Ghz processor is just like an all in one product to me. I am not a rich person and I don't have a lot to spend for computer hardware really, for this reason, I can't look for the products which are giving the best performance only, I mean it is so easy to find them. IF you buy the most expensive one, then you will surely have the fastest processor which has the best performance.
However, effective buying is not meant ... ...what you are buying.
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz processor is something superb in my opinion because I think it has some comparable speed with the Quad Core processors which are much more expensive and latest technology stuff. I mean, of course Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 / 3.16 GHz processor is not as good as them but its price makes this processor comparable with those ultra expensive quad core processors.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 was a decent processor when it was released, however, I can't say the same thing for todays needs and the advancing technology is always requiring a better performance, so this one could only be a product which can be replaced for an upgrade.
If you already have a motherboard which supports Core 2 duo processors, I tihnk you should look for something suitable in 8000 series at least. I strongly recommend buying Intel E8500 ... ...Intel Core 2 Duo E7200.
If you are more into doing simple office based jobs, then there is no need to buy a real fast cpu. However, the same thing doesn't apply if you are interested in playing games on your pc especially. As you already know, the computer game technology is advancing everyday and as they get more advanced, more realistic, they require more graphical processing and central processing powers.
