AMD Shanghai opteron, low price high performance
Review of AMD Third-Generation Opteron 8356 / 2.3 GHz processor Quad-Core by astrajingga

Advantages: high perofrmance for low prices
Disadvantages: not recomended for user that rely on rendering software.

AMD now rely to the new processor that have a code name shanghai, shanghai Opteron, a Quad-core and dual-core architecture that uses AMD K10 property that has been adopted by the families of Barcelona. Owing to 45nm architecture, the chip offers 512KB per core L2 cache with 6MB unified L3 cache. But not only a matter of function, design error in the Barcelona family also inherited by Shanghai. Level 3 cache erratum that affect the performance of ...
...AMD released its first chip unit in February or March later without improvement. And because the vendor has acknowledged that takes about three months to fix, rather more tactful if you wait for the next version released around June, if interested in purchasing. Meanwhile, Intel has been ahead demonstrates the ability of its Nehalem processors, which also built using 45nm technology. They have started to ship its 45nm chip-based micro-architecture ... Rearm your server with new brain
Review of AMD Third-Generation Opteron 2360 SE / 2.5 GHz processor Quad-Core by Bazariux

Advantages: power consuption, performance
Disadvantages: price

...can't help but wonder whether AMD did the right thing with its L3 cache. That cache's roughly 20ns access latency erases the Opteron's lifelong advantage in memory access latencies, yet it nets an effective total cache size just over half that of the current Xeon's. Since the L3 cache is clocked at the same speed as the memory controller, raising that memory controller's clock speed should be a priority for AMD. This particular issue may be more ...
...of years, both Intel and AMD have been talking up a storm about how power-efficient performance is the new key to processors, especially in the server space. By that standard, AMD now has the lead. By any measure-and we have several, including idle power, peak power, and a couple of energy use metrics-the quad-core Opterons trump Intel's quad-core Xeons. Even the early 2.5GHz chip we tested proved to have relatively low power draw, which bodes well. ... Read review

core 2 duo E7200
Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 / 2.53 GHz processor Dual-Core by amier

Advantages: more fast
Disadvantages: expensive

The Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 processor isn't even out yet, but it is by far one of the most talked about processors in 2008 and with a rumored price of $133 it is no wonder as to why. This means that the E7200 will be priced lower than what you can purchase an Intel Core 2 Duo E4700 for today as it will set you back for $149.99. The E7200 at 2.53GHz is 70MHz slower than the E4700 that currently works at 2.6GHz, but don't worry as the E7200 has 1066MHz ...
...an 800MHz FSB. The Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 has a 3MB chunk of L2 cache that should perform better than the 2MB L2 cache found on the E4700. The faster Front Side Bus (FSB) and increased density on the L2 cache should make up for the lower clock speed and make the entry level Core 2 Duo very competitive. As much as the enthusiast community has been talking about the Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 processor, Intel has been pretty silent about the upcoming ... Read review

AMD processors are really multi-tasking
Review of AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ / 2.7 GHz processor Dual-Core by rohitasp

Advantages: All the functions operate with full functionality
Disadvantages: Slighly heated in summer

AMD processors are really awesome. I have laptop with AMD 64 Athlon X2. The features of AMD processors are unique. I can install the Operating Systems and other heavy software like CorelDraw easily and comfortably with minimum time. Moreover, it is also multi-tasking i.e. you can use multiple functions at the same time with great effectiveness and easily y without interrupting each other. I can design my graphics in CorelDraw with higher speed and ...

fast processor
Review of Intel Quad-Core Xeon X5460 / 3.16 GHz processor Quad-Core by Mumyls

Advantages: fast processor
Disadvantages: none

Second generation quad and precursors of 45 nm, these chips are clocked up to 3.16 GHz and equipped with 12 MB of level 2 cache. Without changing technology or software and compatibility with the same level Socket, they boost performance of existing platforms by a factor of up to 25%. Four cores, on a single integrated DIE, run in parallel and can run multiple applications simultaneously heavy. Developed by Intel, the Core architecture is proving ... Read review
