Advantages: It's lasted me over 4 years Disadvantages: The sporadic paper jams and spool errors can be annoying
...times. The Brother HL 1450 is just over a foot in length and width and less than a foot in height. As laser printers go it has a smallish footprint but HP (as an alternative) do offer similar sized laser printers. It isn't too heavy in itself but the paper tray is pretty annoying - you almost have to lift the printer to pull the paper tray out to refill it or to clear jams. Holding about 250 A4 sheets, I'd say I was satisfied with the amount of paper ... ...able to pinpoint why the Brother jammed so often in the first couple of years of use. I have to admit that it seems to have improved with age, as I get far fewer jams nowadays compared to the first 2 years of use. Previously it would have paper jams about 75% of the time and now it's practically 0%! Isn't that strange?
Is it cheap and cheerful? Well cheap it might be (at around $350) but cheerful it certainly wasn't at the start! I would have been ...

Advantages: User-friendly Disadvantages: Mine never worked right at all, can only use HP cartridges
...having, the solution provided by HP was "replace faulty cartridge." No thank you! I'm not buying three $65 cartridges to replace brand-new ones that hadn't even been used yet.
This looks like it could be a good printer, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not going to be able to use it. The interface is user-friendly, and setup was a breeze... all I had to do was put in the included CD and install it before plugging in the printer. It would have been ... ...looks like it has some nice features, including the ability to select the type of paper you're printing on to get the best results. (Glossy, standard, photo, etc.)
One downside to this printer is that you cannot use off-brand cartridges with it, nor can you refill the ones it has. These cartridges are "HP Smart," meaning that they actually have a chip in them which can't be duplicated by other companies. So you're definitely going to be spending ...

Advantages: Lovely sharp colour photo printing ideal for newsletters Disadvantages: Sometimes multiple page faxes get stuck going out
The HP Officejet 7310 is an all-in-one colour printer, scanner, copier and fax machine. With built in networking capabilities so that multiple users can access it's a pretty good all rounder. I'd say it's primarily best for office use where you have multiple users sharing the same machine for colour printing, faxing and scanning needs.
It's advertised by HP themselves as being designed for "small and micro business users who need to share high performance ... ...fact that it's made by HP -who I've always had faith in when it comes to printers! Until I'd used this particular all in one, I'd never experienced a HP colour printer and I'm glad to say my faith wasn't shattered in HP. I recently had to copy an A4 fire evacuation notice in colour to put up in our office as we needed two signs and I couldn't be bothered to order and pay for a new one and I was amazed at the fact that I could barely tell the difference ...

We got this one for free from grandma who thought it was broken. Wifeys uncle tried to fix but he could not get the job done. Turns out that the feed tray thing on the back was popped off a bit and feeding paper crooked. We told wifes dad, but he had already bought grandma a new printer so we got to keep it. Woohoo a free printer, fax, copier, whatever all in one. I am super happy with this thing as it lets me submit resumes so much easier than before. ...

Advantages: Easy scanning, copying and printing using buttons on top, high quality printing Disadvantages: Slightly slower at printing colour
...with the purchase of my HP laptop, but I would have bought it anyway if I needed a printer- it offers many features and is quite affordable. This product is very easy to set up and to use- it offers one button copying in either colour or black and white (which can be selected right on top), along with a scanning button, the choice of multiple copies at a time, and a cancel button. The scanner is a useful feature for both photos and text even though ... ...I find that this printer is fairly easy on ink, and prints relatively quickly, though not as quickly as my old one (which was a Canon). However, the picture and ink quality is excellent. Unlike other printers, there is no tray on top, the paper goes in and comes out the front. ...
