I got the Audiovox D8000IP about 1 month ago for my youngest son. I bought it with the intention of him using it during car rides and long trips, such as doctors visits and rides on the Seattle Ferry. We bought this portable DVD player for our kids a couple of years ago because we were going to a lot of doctor's appointments and such. It is ok, but I wouldn't rate it great. The sound quality could be way better. The volume starts to crack when increased even the slightest. So it has to be kept on low volume and for that reason you have to be very close to it to hear it. This Toshiba for me was a good buy, it has a cheap price tag ( a huge perk) and it dose have a great picture. sound quality is excellent! i dont always just used it for dvd i also use it to listen to my cds. so having a good sound is very big for me. ...it. The biggest plus of this portable dvd player is that is has a swivel and flip screen so i can turn the screen all the way around its great for my kids then they dont mess with the buttons.
