...Pioneer are well known for manufacturing great sound systems and car stereos. It's great to know that they can produce other products just as well. The first thing that strikes you about the DV 353 is the slim size. It is less than 8cm high! The front panel is simply designed with minimal buttons. There are no hidden flaps and the LCD display is small and discreet. The player is multi-region coded, which means DVD's from all over the world can be played on it without any compatibilty problems. The picture quality is crisp and sound was excellent on a 5:1 Dolby Surround set-up. If you have music recorded on CD-R or CD-RW disks, then these can be played also. ...I bought the Pioneer DV-355 DVD player after selling my previous one, which was also a Pioneer. Features wise, this DVD player is exactly the same as the Pioneer DV-353-K. It has all functions that you would expect from a DVD player plus more. Firstly the design; It is very slim and very light, with a silver case. The DVD disk tray is in the centre of the player. On the far left is the power button with the eject and play buttons to the immediate right of the disk tray. Below the tray are the stop, pause, skip forwards and skip backwards buttons. An that's all! No other buttons or functions are available on the system face which makes the appearance very clean and sophisticated.
