Manufacturer's product description
Recording TV programs and home movies just got way easier. The DVR-510H DVD Recorder/Player lets you record content onto an 80GB hard drive for temporary storage, or onto DVD for permanent storage, and here's the best part: it's a no-brainer. With the built-in 80GB hard drive you can record up to 80 hours of material - off the air, cable, or satellite, or your home movies - for short-term storage and viewing. You can keep the content on the hard drive for a day, a week, a year - it's up to you. Now: what if you want to keep material - a favorite show, a game, a home movie - for a longer period of time? Burn it onto a DVD-R (permanent; can't be erased) or DVD - RW (can be erased/written over many times). The DVR-510H features up to 24x record speed, so you'll be able to dub a 1-hour program to DVD in basic EP quality mode in approx. 2.5 minutes. Variable Bit Rate recording lets you choose the quality level/recording time. You can even record content to the hard drive while dubbing different content from the hard drive to a DVD. It's fast and easy, and the content remains in a digital state throughout, so the quality level is very high. For exceptional convenience, you can watch a show that you're recording onto the hard drive - and simultaneously dub it at high speed to DVD. Chase Play lets you watch, stop, or pause a show that you're recording. And the Advanced Disc Navigator makes setup easy and shows you full-motion thumbnails of your recorded material, so you can easily find the recording you'd like to play back. The DVR-510H features PureCinema 2: 3 Progressive Scan for a more film-like presentation when watching movies; a component video output for higher-quality signal transfer to your TV; and a convenient front-panel digital video input for easier connection to your digital camcorder. The DVR-510H also features Dolby Digital and DTS Digital surround sound outputs, plus CD, MP3, and WMA compatibility.
