When we moved into our new house, one of the first things we did was call to DirecTV hooked up in all four of our rooms. We had this Philips DSR 700 receiver is 2 of the four rooms. We were not totally happy with DirecTV, but these receivers definitely came in handy. We had never had Tivo / DVR before, so this was new to us. After a month of using the receivers, we found it hard to believe that we had gone this long without having a DVR. All you have to do is go in through the menu and set it to record any program that you may have to miss. When you get home, all you have to do is hit play and you can watch the program that you missed. You can also pause the program for whatever reason and resume when you get back.
