...The K 20D is a well balanced digital SLR camera. It sits nicely in a medium to large hand and has enough mass to help steady longer lenses. The image quality is superb although the kit lens is a bit slow not allowing you to take full use of the camera's functionality. The large display and easy to use function buttons of which there are several make this camera a pleasure to use. The sealed body means you have to be less frightened of using this camera in rainy, damp or dusty conditions. The built in anti-shake mechanism works very well and means you can use any of the older Pentax lenses still producing sharper images at lower shutter speeds. Overall a truly great camera....

Advantages Excellent image quality, high resolution, great ergonomics, superb high ISO performance, Weathersealed.
Disadvantages Less than average FPS, and AF speeds, Heavy.
...I purchased the pentax K20D as my second digital SLR camera. So far, it has performed to the highest standard, and for my purposes has outclassed other cameras that I have tried (Canon 40D, Nikon D80). Its high resolution sensor of 14.6mp provides excellent image quality, and great low light, high ISO performance.
I would say that, compared to other manufacturers, the auto focus on the Pentax K20D is slightly worse in darker situations, and the frames per second are lower (3FPS compared to most manufactureres 5FPS), which are vital for action and sports photographers, however as a landscape photographer these features did not worry me - the ergonomics and image quality alone were enough to make me buy this camera.

...would be likely to break something but with the GX-20 those fears are well and truly gone, this thing feels unbreakable in your hands and really gives you the confidence to just use it.
I have heard people say that this camera is basically a Pentax k20d with a different body, I dismiss that as nonsense straight off. Having used the afore mentioned Pentax I find the differences between the two enough to be able to say that the people making this comparison have little or no idea what they are talking about. The Samsung GX-20 out-performs the Pentax at every stage and has included features that the Pentax does not have.
What I have to go on to say is that as with any DSLR camera if you do not have a wide selection of lenses then you will limit the camera and what it can do, as a professional I have more than 30 lenses and use them all (not...
