The penn state nittany lions are a division one college football team from pennsylvania. Their coach joe paterno is currently the winningest coach in division one college football. Eddie robinson of grambling state university is the winningest all time coach, but at a 1aa school. THey play their games in university park pennsylvania and its a pretty similar atmosphere to a mild sec tailgage football game. I have been to one of their games and its a real good time. They play in the big east conferecne. They have won two national championships and two conference titles. Bama stopped them in the seventies from another one at the one inch line.
INdividually penn state has had sevaral players win individual awards including john cappelletti winning the heisman trophy. THey have had five members of the pro football hall of fame. Several players from penn state have gone on to standout in the nfl.
