With CRT monitors, image distortion and precision considerations dictate that the actual display area be slightly smaller than the full screen capacity. Because LCD displays are able to utilize the full screen capacity, however, a 15 inch display can offer a display area close to that of a 17 inch CRT monitor. This enables the LC50S to offer full screen display of all modes ranging up to XGA. Requiring only one third the area normally occupied by a CRT monitor, the LC50S frees up precious desktop space for more important business uses. The thin-film transistor (TFT) system used for the LC50S offers a wide angle of vision (140 horizontal), with little or no deviation in color or image quality. This feature is very useful in situations where displayed information is viewed in groups. Designed to meet evolving consumer preferences in image quality, the LC50S combines sharper focus with significant advances in brightness and contrast. Eye - catching natural quality color is made possible by the use of a specially selected color filter. Users can now enjoy display performance at the 16.2 million color setting. Industry leading contrast ratio of 400:1 and brightness of 250cd/m2 (more than double of a CRT) eliminate any screen darkness. The result is sharp reproduction of image detail and fine definition of smaller characters. The LC50S comes with built-in stereo bass reflex speakers that project sound to the front of the display. The headphone connector comes in handy in office situations where consideration must be shown for the peace and concentration of fellow workers.
