Manufacturer's product description
Panasonic, a leader in the recordable DVD industry, presents the world's first combination television models featuring a built-in DVD recorder. The PV-DR2714 combines the technology and versatility of recordable DVD with Panasonic's top-of-the-line flat screen televisions, resulting in the ultimate home theater experience. Panasonic's DVD recorder allows users to record high-quality digital video onto DVD-RAM and DVD-R1 discs with the touch of one button. DVD-R allows consumers to view video recording in virtually any DVD player, while DVD-RAM provides PVR like functions and can be used for recording and re-recording programs up to 100, 000 times on the same disc. The PV-DR2714 includes a fully featured DVD recorder, which allows users to view a program recorded onto a DVD-RAM disc while simultaneously recording a different program. A Chasing Playback function permits users to watch a show that's being recorded - right from the beginning - while the show continues to record to the end. And a unique Time Slip feature allows viewers to replay a scene recorded 30 seconds earlier without disrupting the recording process. Additional DVD features include smooth motion scan (in five speeds up to 100 times), picture zoom, auto switching field/frame and multi-language, multi-angle playback. For outstanding picture quality, the new combos feature Panasonic's PureFlat picture tube. The perfectly flat screen delivers distortion-free picture from corner to corner, and from every angle. In addition, a two-line digital comb filter minimizes dot crawl and cross-color interference. To insure that the audio quality matches that of the DVD Video, these combos are equipped with Dolby Digital2 and dts3 outputs, enabling them to be connected to optional surround sound decoders for remarkable home theater sound. Also included are a front A/V input and a Rear Jack Pack consisting of an audio out and optical digital out. Additionally these models feature a variety of audio CD playback options including, CD-R4, CD-RW4, MP3, WMA5 disc formats. The PV-DR2714 is a 27-inch, versatile Triple Play Plus TV/DVD recorder/VCR combination featuring a four-head Hi-Fi VCR with important functions such as VCR Plus6 and Auto Clock Set. The PV-DR2714 has a convenient Ready-to-Play feature that requires the user only plug in the combo unit for it to automatically set its own clock and local channels. Also included are a built-in FM radio, alarm clock with a timer function, and a newly designed Tower Remote Control.
