The Panasonic CT-27SF26 has an excellent picture that looks great while displaying the signals from a DVD player or Dreamcast. The colors are very rich while the picture remains sharp. The sound is very pleasant for TV speakers and they can get loud without becoming distorted. The Panasonic CT-27SF26 27-inch SuperFlat tube helps to eliminate detail-robbing reflections from room lights and windows. Its specially formulated black glass screen and Invar Mask help to create images with higher contrast and accurate color reproduction. This TV features color picture-in-picture capability, with the use of a second tuner, Spatializer 3D surround sound, director home theater remote with joystick and artificial intelligence sound control that helps prevent sudden, loud spikes in volume. Velocity modulated scan-advanced circuitry located along the neck of the CRT senses transitions from dark-to-light in the video signal. The black and white portions of the signal are sped up and slowed down, respectively (hence, "velocity modulated"). This results in sharp dark-to-light transitions and outstanding edge definition.
