Advantages Stylish, light and functional Disadvantages No colour screen
...I've had the m500 for about two years now and it has never let me down. It's a good solid PDA work horse. The software that's preinstalled, although basic does "exactly what it says on the tin".
The calendar / appointment function displays are clear and appointments can be set to repeat daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Various alarms can be set to remind you of appointments and there is also a vibration feature with can be used in conjuntion with or without the alarm.
The address book is easy to set up and has enough fields to add e-mail and multiple telephone numbers for home, business mobile etc.
There is also a basic "To do..." list function which you can assign priorities to and store in seperate folders.
A useful feature for jotting things down is also available which works like an electronic post-it note. At first I...

Advantages Stores everything you will need. Disadvantages Complications in writing.
...WHY I HAVE ONE
I am not a business owner, nor am I a hectic mother, nor an entrepreneur; however I have a palm handheld. Admittedly I did not buy this myself; it was given to me from my L.E.A. as part of my learning recourses package, to help me get through university with Dyslexia. And it has managed to do just that!
WHAT IT IS
The Palmm500 is no longer top of its range, (it has limited beeb noises and not sound, and it is in black and white) but is still far more than the average personal organiser! Palm computers range in size, this particular model being 11.4 x 7.9 x 1 cm and weighing just 113 grams. All Palms rely on touch screen with a stylus to tap the icons. From most Palm tops you can link to a PC, and also in the case of the Palmm500 an Apple Mac. The memory of the Palm is 8MB which is extendable though multi...

Review of NAVMAN GPS 500 12 channel GPS kit for Palmm130, Palmm515, Palmm500, Palmm125, Palmm505 by

Advantages Easy to use, covers both street and UK roads Disadvantages No voice directions (due to PDA), maps not totally up to date
...After considering a GPS system for a while, as I do a lot of driving to different places with my work, I stumbled across the Navman 500 for sale secondhand. Great, I already have a PalmM130 PDA which is great.
I connected it up, put the windscreen mount on (it can also be used in handheld mode if you are walking around too!!). Installed the software and downloaded the UK map and my local area maps where I live. As I live in a rural area (Lincolnshire) I decided to get lost and switch it on to guide me home. It did and found a route which I would never have thought of - and I arrived home quicker than anticipated.
Whilst it is still necessary sometimes to have a road atlas, the unit can tell you where you are in seconds.
My only criticism is that I emailed Navman and they are not releasing any new updated maps (current version...
