Advantages Great device! Disadvantages folding cover a little flimsy
...Lightweight, affordable and genuinly useful. A great entry level PDA for a low price. replace your phone book, address book, diary with one light weight device (weighs about the same as a mobile phone) Battery ife is good with charging easy using the included cradle. Setup takes a minute or two and the device comes with many applications pre-installed. The software available (and a lot of it is free) is immense - just look through some popular shareware sites for pages of software. Simple to use and once you get the hang of Grafitti (the data input method, which is simalir to handwriting on the screen) it really is easy to use. The only drawback is the plastic folding cover which protects the screen, it is alittle flimsy but cases are available. The full colour screen is an essential and the display really is quite good. The memory is...

Advantages easy to use, extra programmes can be downloaded, Disadvantages if it runs out of batery you risk losing all data if it is not backed up to computor
...I have been using the palm for over a year; when I first got it I couldn't be bothered to learn to use it properly and would still use a written diary. Now I would be lost without it. I have my work diary on there and my personal diary. My partner also has one and we can sync the palms together and with duel date we can see each others diaries.
I keep work documents on there and have also got and attachable keyboard which I can use to make notes when I am at meetings and then just sync it to the computer when I get back.
I have even downloaded photos to it.
I find the palm invaluable and use it daily, for both work and personal use.
On the Palm website there are plenty of extra programmes which can be added to the palm, some are free and others you have to pay for. I also have a memory card in mine which is particularly useful...

Advantages Easy to use, covers both street and UK roads Disadvantages No voice directions (due to PDA), maps not totally up to date
...After considering a GPS system for a while, as I do a lot of driving to different places with my work, I stumbled across the Navman 500 for sale secondhand. Great, I already have a PalmM130 PDA which is great.
I connected it up, put the windscreen mount on (it can also be used in handheld mode if you are walking around too!!). Installed the software and downloaded the UK map and my local area maps where I live. As I live in a rural area (Lincolnshire) I decided to get lost and switch it on to guide me home. It did and found a route which I would never have thought of - and I arrived home quicker than anticipated.
Whilst it is still necessary sometimes to have a road atlas, the unit can tell you where you are in seconds.
My only criticism is that I emailed Navman and they are not releasing any new updated maps (current version...
