I've been using the Palm Centro for approximately three months. While I like the large touch screen, the keyboard buttons are tiny and somewhat difficult to use without the stylus. The sound quality on my end is very good, however people seem to have difficulty hearing me on this phone and describe it as loud enough, but muffled. This does not seem to be related to the microphone being obscured or a volume adjustment issue. The sync functions are excellent, especially since this is my first "smartphone." I like being able to add items to my calendar and contacts via computer and sync them with the phone. Online access is also very easy, and set-up was a breeze for me. The camera takes decent pictures as well, file storage is good, and the texting set-up has a lot of great options.

Thank goodness for insurance. My Palm Centro encountered a problem with Hotsyncing (updating information between computer and phone), and had to be reset with a hard reset. This wipes all personal data from the phone. Because Sprint neither uses SIM cards or online phone books, all data will have to be manually re-entered as it stands now. I took the phone into a Sprint store and they indicated it would need replacing. While I was in the store, it began attempting to HotSync on its own, then locked up. Another customer came in with the exact same phone and the exact same problem while I was attempting to resolve mine.
Fortunately, I purchased a nearly-new Katana 2 from Craigslist as a backup phone. I also have insurance on the Centro.
The new one has arrived, and I'm going to attempt to sync that one from the Palm software on my PC. We'll see if it works. If so, I haven't decided if I will go back to using the Centro or have the data transferred to my Katana 2. If it doesn't work, I may still use the calendar options on the Centro, but it will NOT be my primary phone.
