The blender I had before only cost me $5 at a yard sale and didn't work very well so I decided to upgrade. The price I paid was about $60 which I thought was pretty high and I have seen it for more than that. The best thing about this blender in my opinion is it's ability to really chop up ice. ...want to pulse you have to switch between on and off repeatedly which is annoying but not a big deal considering how well the blender blends. It looks nice on the counter with the chrome beehive design and it is very durable. The pitcher is glass which I like much better than the plastic ones. It is easy to clean and very simple to use.
