Richard Wagner
Review of Wagner by jtbull46

Advantages: Great composer, good operas very influential
Disadvantages: the person needed some work

Wilhelm Richard Wagner Is a 19th century German musical composer best known for some that have been made into operas. His style was very influential in developing europeon classical music. He did most aspects of his opera from the music, dialogue, and stage concepts. At an early age after the death of his father he acted in operas his first role being that of an angel. He was greatly influeced to get into music after listening the Beethoven. He did ...
...more a footnote. Unfortunately Wagner was very anti-semitic and wrote of that in some of his writings. I am sure the anti-semitism and the fact that lots of his music was based on German and norse myth made him of favorite of Adolph Hitler. Musically some of his music is very mellow and relaxing and others are more upbeat. The majority of his composition are written, aparently, in minor tones as they have an erie feel about them. Som of my favorites ... Read review

Placido Domingo
Review of Placido Domingo by schellsr

Advantages: Great vocalist,tenor singer
Disadvantages: Cannot understand lyrics,

Placido Domingo is one of the very few foreign singers that I have listened to and enjoyed. His songs are strong and powerful, they are impressive, even if I cannot understand them. I just listen to the flow and passion he gives each song. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, once. The Presidential Medal of Freedom is the highest civilian honor in the United States of America. This award recognizes individuals who have made an especially ...
...United States, or to world peace, or to cultural or other significant public or private endeavours. He has had over 124 roles in Italian and French Operas. He's not only a singer but an actor. He has been known for his tenored Opera. One of his favorite sayings is "But I won't deprive myself of singing opera as long as my voice follows. " It takes great practice and discipline to sing Opera and it is a wonderful "showy "music. I think he will ... Read review

amazing composer
Review of Beethoven by dorian151

Advantages: all
Disadvantages: none

Beethoven was a genuis, even though he apparently had a very bad temper and tended to throw people down the stairs when something didnt suit him! On the other hand, he became deaf, and continued to compose. As he became eventually completely deaf, he continued to grow hatred and jealousy for other composers who could hear their music. He expressed his hatred still in his songs that he wrote. One of the songs he wrote was dedicated to his pupil, ... Read review

He did the Looney Tunes musical score and was said to do a few of the voices. This cd brought back memories, as his songs are songs we all know, from Tv shows, Broadway musicals and even commercials. Great composer
Review of Johan Sebastian Bach by dorian151

Advantages: all
Disadvantages: none

Johan Sebastian Bach was one of the greatest classical composers, who also had a son, Carl Philip Emanuel Bach, another famous composer, not as famous as the great Johan Sebastian, but still famous, one of his great songs being the piece which is entitled "Solfeggietto", which was written and transcribed for the piano, using a combination of broken chords and arpeggios to create fast and stunning effects. The great Bach is also mainly known for ... Read review
