happy snapping in the digital age
Review of Olympus CAMEDIA D 230 by shibainudogpersn

Advantages: light weight, sliding lens cover, ease of use
Disadvantages: low level zoom, no anti-shake function

I have owned this super little digi-cam for a few years now and have been extremely pleased with the pictures it takes. Because you can vary the quality of each picture - obviously the higher quality the pic the more memory it occupies - you can be sure that when you upload to the internet or to a photo program you won't end up with highly pixelated or blurry results. It is a lightweight little camera, extremely easy to use - all the functions work ...
...so that nothing is left to happenstance. It also, crucially, will double-check you if you are about to erase a single pic or the entire memory card. New cards are relatively inexpensive so it is probably helpful to upgrade from that installed in the camera so that you aren't constantly having to upload/review/delete pics taken. Batteries are rechargeable and a full charge actually lasts for quite a long time. You can opt-in to flash, to portrait ... Read review

Review of Olympus Camedia C-2 by Stephensj1995 taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages easy to use
Disadvantages batteries can go quickly if not high quality

...Olympus Camedia c-2 (D-230) I was given this digital camera as a present over 3 years when I started going on several camping holidays and became really interested in photography. My sister has since brought a newer digitial camera but mine is still proving to take clearer photographs and is easier to use. The reason for chosing Olympus was that the reputation of the company is very good. They have been manufactoring cameras for over 50 years and have a vast range of simple shutter cameras to top of the range digital cameras. My brother in law has always sworn by this company for great quality products. The instruction manual that came with the camera was well set out and in several languages. The contents page is really easy to follow and whole format of the book really informative. I was able to scan through quickly to find... Read review

Cheap camera and fantastic quality !!
Review of Olympus Camedia C-2 by lostsworld taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Small, good quality, lens protected, features
Disadvantages eats batteries

...The Olympus Camedia C-2 or the Brio D-230 in America, this is a digital camera with a true 2.1 megapixel CCD sensor for nice sharp photos. For those of you who don't know, no matter what megapixel your camera states it is, it's the CCD sensor that's important. ~ Olympus ~ Not knowing anything about cameras or camera brands I dived in and bought a second hand Olympus C-2 for £50. At first I was concerned as I knew nothing but wanted a true 2.1 megapixel sensor with a close up macro. Looking around I found that most cameras claimed to have close macro but infact were not that good. Now that I have owned it for a few years I am so glad I chose an Olympus. ~ The camera ~ As stated it is a 2.0 megapixel camera or a true 2.14 megapixel 1/2.7" CCD sensor. It is a little silver plastic camera with a sliding front cover... Read review

Manufacturer's product description

The D-230 is a small, simple camera that produces big, beautiful photographs. Its compact body makes it easy to bring to the kids' soccer game or accompany you on vacation, while its stylish design and elegant metallic finish keeps it looking as good as the pictures it produces. Those pictures are easy to capture too, thanks to the many simple-to-use features included with the 2-megapixel digital camera including an Olympus autofocus lens and Auto-Connect USB. Auto-Connect USB feature lets you easily connect the D-230 to most any USB-enabled computer for quick and easy downloading of images. No additional software to install. Just drag and drop. Additionally, with one press of a button the D-230 meters the light, adjusts the exposure and fine-tunes the white balance to give you the beautiful pictures you expect from a beautifully designed camera. 2-to-1 image merge mode lets you combine two pictures into one side-by-side image without using a PC and imaging software. Macro mode gets you as close as 4 inches from your subject to capture the fine detail of small objects. With QuickTime Movie mode you can shoot a full minute of video.
