Advantages: easy to use
Disadvantages: a little expensive

I use this camera for my work - I am the editor of a small weekly newspaper in Montana- and I love it! I also use it to take hundreds of pictures of my new baby, and for taking professional photos of seniors and weddings. I love it because it is so simple to use, and produces very high quaility photos. It also has great attachments - like a telephoto lens, that are easy to attach and use. Advantages: Excellent image quality, comes with photo software
Disadvantages: Expensive (but worth it), does not come with a lens

This camera is truly exceptional. A photography purist for years (using analog cameras, darkrooms) I was skeptical about switching to digital. However, the functionality of the D40x is so impressive, that I have been converted! This camera body is light and compact, great for anyone who loves to have a camera with them at all times. ...Beware that the autofocus function ONLY works with AF-S or AF-I lenses, which have their own drive motor. In-camera retouching is available if you're on the go, and you can operate the camera with full Manual controls.
