Advantages It gets you there no matter what, and more Disadvantages Can be a little slow to re-route
...a compensation claim in for an accident at work 2 years ago and recently the claim was settled and I found myself with a little bit of extra cash. I've pretty much got everything I want and what I haven't got is either simple a material possession or something that although nice to have serves no real purpose. So it therefore took my wife some persuasion to get me to purchase the NavmanPiN570 to aid us in our more frequent escapades.
I was browsing the net and searching for the best deal on a Sat Nav system and my head was lost in the jargon and the many possibilities. Then by chance I happened upon a link for the PiN570 and gave it a little butchers. Now there was a big bonus it was also a Pocket PC, had Sat Nav and after a little more searching I got it for £68 cheaper than my first link quoted. RESULT or what.

Advantages A well-priced GPS - but so much more too Disadvantages Lacking soe facilities - such as traffic reports
...If you are interested in getting a GPS, but are not too sure whether you can really justify the cost, then the NavmanPiN570 is the one for you.
First - as a GPS - it is simple and effective. It may lack Bluetooth connectivity, and traffic news, and so on - but it does have a comprehensive UK database and it will get you from A to B as efficiently as any map.

But its more than that. Its also a pocket PC with Word and Excel and MS Reader and a calendar and contact list and more besides. Its a total organiser that will link to your PC and make everything from your appointment list to your latest faily photos totally portable...

Advantages Many features, easy to use, customisable, portable, price. Disadvantages Volatile memory, no bluetooth, charger connection.
...If you are looking for a cheap PDA, this is well worth considering. Because it is often marketed as a satnav system only, you can pick it up for around £100 new (as I did) or even less second-hand.
Basically you're getting a pocket PC for about a third to half of the price of more well known models. It comes with Windows Mobile 2003: this includes Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook, as well as Media Player.
It's really easy to synchronise with your desktop or laptop PC, so you can automatically update your calendar and contacts etc. For example, I now keep all my names, numbers, addresses, emails and birthdays in Outlook on my PC (this is supplied too). When I add to or edit them, the Navman automatically updates itself next time I connect it to my PC.
It's also very easy to add software (plenty of free stuff available...
