For first-person shooters, the remote acts as your weapon that you point at an enemy. The list of potential uses goes on and on. Using Bluetooth technology, the wireless Wii Remote controller sends your actions to the Wii console from as far as 30 feet away. As a pointing device, the controller can send a signal from as far as 15 feet away. Up to four Wii Remote Controllers can be connected at once, making for some great multiplayer fun!

An excellent decision by nintendo. When you first see this remote you will likely dismiss it as just a gimmick. That would be a big mistake. The nintendo wii remote opens up gaming to people of all ages. It is not just wireless, it is motion sensitive and is precise to a point. Most of the time. Although the wii remote is an ingenious invention, it is not always used to its full potential. Some developers just tack on awful gimmicky motion sensitive controls on to their multi-format releases, but most console-specific games for the wii are not like that. Sometimes, even in games that use the wii remote well, you may curse that the remote was not working. But this is a very rare happening in first and second party games for the wii and generally the wii remote is very reliable, but it also drains batteries quickly.
