My Chemical Romance (or MCR or My Chem) is an all-American quintet with a taste for the dark and violent theme of music. Although branded by the media as an 'emo' band, they (the band members themselves) describe their music as just 'rock' or 'dangerous, violent pop'. Listening to their songs and watching their music videos for the first time, I have seen a new and innovative band giving the alternative music scene a new twist. With a penchant for violence and angst in their music, it is no wonder they were tagged as an emo band. I personally like the band because of their free spirits. They freely let their emotions, though mostly negative ones, flow with the music. Two thumbs up for MCR!
