I first joined MySpace because two of my kids had mentioned it to me. Wow! What a wonderful way to keep in touch with friends and family who are scattered across the country.
It is very easy to sign up for. All you need is a valid email address. Once you access the site, you can write up your profile. You also have the option to keep your profile private so that only your friends on your list can see your profile.
I was able to locate classmates, former coworkers, family and in the meantime made a lot more friends. My oldest nephew who lives across the country started a MySpace group for my family to see and post pictures and to tell of any news that was happening with anybody. My family is so spread out. I haven't seen my newest niece in person but with MySpace, there she is. I'm going to be a grandma this year too! My daughter in law keeps us all posted and even has pictures of the baby from her sonogram. (If it's a boy, my son wants to name him Batman!)
I do believe children should be monitored on MySpace or at least have their profiles privately listed. There are a lot of crazy people out there but I also think it's a great way to keep in touch, make new friends, network with others like you.
There are also websites that provide codes for you to show your creative side and to leave messages for others. All around, it's a fun thing!
