...to hand where you'd expect them to be and Rover has added little details, which seem relatively unimportant but you notice the lack of thought when you drive cars without them, such as, the interior light comes on automatically when you disengage the remote centrol locking at night and the ignition column lights up, so you don't have to fumble around in the dark. The interior is quite stylish. I've found it relatively good on fuel, equally good around town or on a run. I find it does between 35 and 55mpg. For anyone considering the purchase of a similar car, to give a (very) rough guide to the insurance costs, I've just re-newed my insurance and paid around £300.00 for fully comprehensive insurance with full no claims bonus for the 12 months. ...Firstly I have only ever owned landrovers, starting a few years ago with a petrol 110, then two Range Rovers and now a 300tdi automatic Discovery. I have now owned the Discovery now for about fourteen months, bought at auction for about £2,600. Only bought at auction because I had a friendly mechanic to guide me in my purchase. Anyway the car in questionis a high mileage (164,000 at the time of purchase) 300 tdi with automatic transmission. The autobox highlights the lack of power but you soon get used to it anyway the advantages of Auto over manual as far as I am concerned more than make up for the supposed lack of power. I was also advised that the high mileage was not really to be worried about, if the vehicle has lasted this long its likely to keep on going without any major problems!
