Advantages: lots of action, 3d graphics, hazards on screen Disadvantages: like most of the other fight games
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance for the xbox is the first of the Mortal Kombat series designed for the newer systems ( xbox, playstation ect). Some of the old favorite characters such as scorpion ( my favorite) are back and there are some new characters. The graphics were greatly upgraded with this to 3D and the sound quality if supposed to be better, but I did not find it that much better than the Sega Genesis version.
It is still a tournament based ... ...stands and combinations you can use to defend yourself or for fatalities. There are also obstacles on screen like pools of lava that you can fall or be thrown into you that can kill you. There are several unlockable characters in the game that you can achieve while you are playing it. Overall I would say it is a good game if you are a fan of the serires. If you are not really one, then the game will seem like it is basically just like previous versions. ...
