Thanks to a more powerful tape mechanism, this VCR can now move a T-120 tape at 500 times its EP mode play speed, from end to end in about 43 seconds! And it does it so quietly it's virtually inaudible. PerfecTape Select analyzes the videocassette tape and makes fine adjustments for improved recordings and playback. It also allows the customer to preprogram the VCR for a desired level of picture sharpness. RentalXpress feature automatically rewinds a tape when it reaches the end, ejects it, and then shuts off the VCR. VCR Plus+ allows easy program recording by simply keying in the Plus+ codes found in many TV program listings. VCR Plus+ C3 enables the VCR to control a cable box, allowing multiple unattended recordings from different channels. 7-Step Shuttle provides precise tape speed control similar to that of a jog dial. Commercial Skip feature engages the forward search mode in up to six increments of 30 seconds. Mitsubishi's unique, easy-to-use method of one-touch program recording also provides a simple way to delay and extend the recording time. When first activated it automatically rounds the start time to the nearest half-hour and sets the recording time to 30 minutes. Auto Clock Set adjusts the VCR clock setting automatically after receiving the time code transmitted in some TV broadcasts. 19m heads provide improved EP mode picture quality because their narrower width will not pick up information from adjacent tracks. Precision Gap Heads offer improved resolution by maintaining a flat video bandwidth, where lesser heads produce high-frequency losses and a corresponding lack of picture detail.
