Advantages Lush graphics, excellent tunes, massive in single player mode
Disadvantages No car damage, upgrades can take ages to become available, some races can be samey, the other traffic

.... There are around 111 in the Underground (story) mode, although there may be more locked away somewhere (sorry I'm only on mission 35 at the moment). So longevity is pretty much assured. The first thing you'll notice is the absolutely beautiful graphics (assuming your system is of a high enough spec). The cars have reflections off light sources, the ground will reflect the cars, there are dust trails and the water sprays up when you drive through it. The detail is amazing. It's not quite photo realistic, but it's getting there. The light traces and blurs when you kick nitro in is amazing too. Half the fun with these games is making your dream car. This is where one of my criticisms comes in. The basic 'stock' cars are OK. The range from Ford Focuses and Peugeots to Dodge Neons and Hondas, but unlocking new cars can take a lot of time and so... ...Grand Theft Auto 3 has to be one of the hottest games around at the moment. It’s currently exclusive to the Playstation 2, although a PC release is due early in the summer. If you are not familiar with the mould of the GTA series, then I’ll enlighten in a line or two. Essentially you’re a small time criminal, your task is to fulfil crime filled missions for the various gang leaders you become acquainted with. The missions are wide and varied, and are very much of an adult theme, i.e. killing, bombing, get-away driving and so on. The aim to is to complete all the missions and submissions to eventually become a big time and respected criminal on the streets!!
