Manufacturer's product description
Mission Electronics, the internationally acclaimed U.K.-based loudspeaker manufacturer, redefines high-end loudspeaker value and performance with its 77 Series of high-end loudspeakers. Typically, high-end and high price are synonymous. The 77 Series breaks that stereotype. Thanks to the latest advances in materials and manufacturing technologies, Mission has been able to achieve significant production economies while actually improving quality and performance. The end result is a loudspeaker line that provides true high-end audiophile sound quality at remarkably affordable price points. Mission 77 Series loudspeakers incorporate a number of technical and design innovations to achieve more refined, more accurate sound with lower distortion, faster transient response and more precise imaging. A newly designed Aerogel midrange/woofer driver is included in every 77 Series loudspeaker. This proprietary driver is constructed utilizing a precision-molded carbon fiber/acrylic foam matrix, which creates an ideal combination of lightweight and stiffness for exceptional transient response, resolution and midrange clarity. An integral phase correction plug eliminates dust-cap resonance and provides improved off-axis response for better imaging and smoother frequency response. The 77 Series tweeter uses a viscous-laminated fabric dome material for exceptional smoothness, detail resolution and extension, and includes an ultra-high-gauss neodymium magnet for unusually high power handling capability. The tweeter is mounted on a unique leaf spring plate, which completely decouples it from the baffle board and isolates it from the woofer and midrange drivers, for more articulate upper midrange and high frequencies with a greater sense of spaciousness and "air" with less "smear."
