Mirage Omnisat v2 FS

The flagship of the OMNISAT v2 series is the OMNISAT v2 FS floorstanding model. Never before has a loudspeaker with such a small footprint combined such elegant design and superior audio performance. Its high-quality, beautifully finished aluminum extrusion houses technology that enables the OMNISAT v2 FS to perform like no other speaker in its class. Mirage's R&D department overcame major obstacles commonly found in loudspeakers with small footprints and fairly tall cabinets. For example, such a tall thin cavity can act as a pipe organ, creating a huge peak in the bass response - a one-note accompaniment to every song. In addition, these speakers often have a distinct lack of bottom-end performance due to the fact that it is physically very difficult to produce satisfying low-frequency performance from speakers with limited enclosure volumes. Many manufacturers in the industry have not addressed these problems. They either decide not to deal with the problems or simply roll off the speakers at very high frequencies, often as high as 150Hz. In fact, many tiny satellites today offer more low-frequency performance than that of competitors' floorstanding models. The OMNISAT v2 FS cabinet has an internally isolated midrange section. This innovative design approach, in combination with some additional proprietary features, completely eliminates the pipe organ effect allowing the OMNISAT v2 FS to reproduce amazingly low frequencies. Andrew Welker, head engineer of Mirage, designed the bottom section of the OMNISAT v2 FS to include four passive radiators and two active 4.5" drivers allowing the v2 FS to accurately reproduce frequencies all the way down to 55 Hz - something unheard of in a speaker of this kind. This innovative design guarantees a very tight and precise bass creating stunning music reproduction even without a subwoofer. In cases where a subwoofer is desired (for example for some home theater applications), the OMNISAT v2 FS was designed to be used with the highly praised OMNI series of subwoofers. The top section of the OMNISAT v2 FS cabinet houses an active 4.5" driver and a 1" PTH tweeter mounted in Mirage's exclusive OMNIGUIDE array - producing phenomenal 360-degree three-dimensional sound. The OMNISAT v2 FS comes already mounted on an elegant glass base. The v2 FS's sleek design easily integrates into and enhances any décor. An enormous amount of research went into the development of the OMNISAT v2 FS to ensure that style and performance were not mutually exclusive.
