The Sony M2 is the another kind of memory card, The m2 in fact isn't much different from the micro SD in my eyes. Both of them are small. For the latest Sony Ericssson phones, they all use the m2 for external memory. The m2 is a little bit thicker than the micro SD. You can't format the card in the camera. The camera in theory only supports 8gb cards, but it will recognize the 16gb card. HOWEVER, it will format the 16gb card as 8gb. If you use a card reader attached to a computer to format the card, it will remain at 16gb and the camera will continue to see it as 16gb.
