...It is only today that i have read of the reprive of Mark Richarson's two year suspension. This is great news for UK Athletics and for British 400m running.
From what i have read it seems that Richardson has been let-off his drug offence in a compromise to become "...a sport's leading crusader" (as the Daily Mail put it), for anti-drug and doping in the sport. This does seem rather cheeky of the IAAF, as in many eyes he is not a cheat (explained why below). But at least he is now able to compete. If this was not the case we may have lost one of our many tallented sprinters in the sport. This of course would have been a travesty.
