Awesome talking GPS system.
Review of Magellan Maestro 4200 by  st0rmy

Advantages: Great quality, clear screen, easy to use, all out exceptional
Disadvantages: NONE! :D

...Since I've bought this GPS device, I've recently moved into a completely different town where I knew where absolutely nothing was at, but using this, has helped me get to anywhere I want, I really love this Magellan Maestro 4200 GPS receiver. This has been one of my best purchases in the past year, the screen is nice and clear, the street names are always correct, it will redirect you if you happen to take the wrong turn some where. It also announces out loud where you should go, so you can safely drive with your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road. The design in itself is even really nice, it's sleek and compact and fits perfectly right on top of my dashboard. I recommend this product to absolutely anyone who has no sense of direction like me.... Read review

Magellan Explorist 210
Review of Magellan eXplorist 210 Europe 14 channel GPS receiver by hughchapman taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages cheap, ease of use
Disadvantages low detail maps, no memory exspansion

...Despite the incredibly cheap price tag that this gps unit has it is still a good investment. Aimed at outdoors enthusiasts this unit should not be confused with a sat-nav, and is not really for road use. Large backlit display makes for easy reading and the navigation screens are very good and are especially helful when walking, hiking etc. The supplied maps are not very detailed, and should not be relied upon for accurate navigation, I would suggest buyin Mapsend Topo uk, this package is very deatiled and gives you all the deatil you could possibly want for any outdoor activity. The buttons allow easy operation, and moving through the navigation screens is a straightforward proces. Functions like the electronic compass and trip Oedometer add to the units functionality. One downside is the small 22mb memory, it may be worthwile investing... Read review

Magellan eXplorist 210
Review of Magellan eXplorist 210 Europe 14 channel GPS receiver by ciaojake taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Cheap; easy to use; geocaching features
Disadvantages monochrome screen; little room for expansion; cant plan routes via postcodes or addresses

...satellite navigation devices come in all shapes and sizes, with the most popular variety being in car systems that can be mounted on the dashboard or windscreen and used as a route finding aid while on the roads. with its shock resistant, waterproof body and AA battery powered operation, magnellans latest GPS unit is a handheld device primarily aimed more at hikers, ramblers and outdoors types, rather than those who prefer the relative comforts of an automobile. theres no bracket for attatching it to a bike, which seems a shame. if youre used to the in car variety then the explorist might seem a little disappointing it doesnt have a colour screen, for a start. its monochrome LCD can be illuminated by a reddish backlight, nut obviously it can be a little hard to work with black and white maps. unlike most other GPS systems... Magellan Explorist 500 Europe
Review of Magellan eXplorist 500 Europe 14 channel GPS receiver by niglom taken from ciao.co.uk

Advantages Size, speed, colours, waterproof, SD slot
Disadvantages Reliance on poor Magellan Maps, no third party support

...I wanted a small GPS unit principally for my off road mountain biking activities. It's a real hassle stopping the bike unfolding the OS map and working out precisely where you are, on a legitimate bridle path or in a farmers backyard. When I saw the advert for the new eXplorist 500 at £350, featuring Magellan's topographical UK map, I thought this is it, a bit expensive, but just what I've been waiting for. The reality is somewhat different to the expectation, hence my disappointment. Now don't get me wrong, this little GPS unit is easy to use, it's fast and accurate and will display your position on it's simple and crude basemap as good as any other Garmin or Magellan unit. It will also give you an accurate reading of latitude and longitude or OS grid reference. But what's the use of a 16 colour TFT screen if the map on it doesn... Read review
