Opal .. It Isn't a Pearl
Review of RCA M4001 1 GB by keltycphoenyx

Advantages: easy to carry, clear sound, good storage, easy to navigate
Disadvantages: one button feature confuses operation, easily jostled

The RCA Opal, as it's called is, overall, a fairly decent mp3 player. It records sound. It's own sound is clear and vibrant, it's menus are easy to read and navigate, and it's capacity for storing your favorite songs, e-books, pictures, and videos is amazing. However, a small problem arises with the forward and back features, as well as the volume controls, all being on the same button. Often, when I try to turn the volume up, It will skip to the ...
...added feature of the hold button is a necessity, because it is easy to jar this thing and accidentally hit a button that you did not intend to hit. Another thing to keep in mind when you charge this thing is to let it charge completely the first time, for that controls the life of each charge thereafter. ... Read review

RCA Opal M4204 4 GB
Review of RCA Opal M4204 4 GB by Moosesmom04

Advantages: Very easy to use.
Disadvantages: Wish it was a bit more customizable.

...will be less. The RCA Opal is boasts a 1.8 inch viewing screen, which I think is a great size to be able to view pictures and videos on the go. I have uploaded quite a few pictures onto my Opal and the viewing quality is awesome. I like to have it around to show off pics of my 4 year old! Sound quality is excellent with the Opal. You have great highs and lows, and the equalizer comes in handy when you go from one genre to another. You can even ... Read review

RCA Opal M4004, Great Buy!
Review of RCA Opal M4004 4 GB by CMB74

Advantages: Size
Disadvantages: None

The RCA Opal M4004 is my daughters newest pocket pal, and that's exactly where she keeps it at all times. It's so slim and very durable proven by 6 months of school bus rides, cross country running meets and every other place she can sneak it into. This MP3 holds over 1000 songs, video clips which I guess is the newest teen craze, what ever happen to rock t-shirts? It also holds personal photos and makes a photo slide show, and has a personal recorder ...
...or just being silly with her friends. The Opals come in varieties of two toned colors. Along with the MP3 you get a set of white earbuds. A USB cable for downloads and recharging which takes about 3 hours if the battery is completely low. She usually gets about 15 full hours of usage before she has to recharge, and I usually get 2 hours of full quiet on a road trip. I've seen these for sale at all the big electronic stores for between $69-$99, ... Read review

RCA MP3 Player: High Quality, Low Cost
Review of RCA TH 1101 1 GB by goddessdawnie

Advantages: Extremely durable; high quality sound & recording
Disadvantages: Doesn't recharge it's own battery

The RCA TH 1101 1GB MP3 Player is, in my opinion, an excellent value! I purchased one of these several months ago and it is still going strong; it holds just enough space to keep me interested and has every function I want or need. It's also quite durable, having been dropped innumberable times (once into a sink full of soapy water!) and never once has it stopped working. I use my MP3 player for three main purposes, all of which it does very well: ...
...option, I highly recommend the RCA TH 1101. It has all the functionality of a more expensive player, the quality of the audio and of recordings is high, and it can take a beating and keep going. If this one ever goes out on me, you can bet I'll get another like it. A word of caution, however; it does not recharge it's own batteries off the USB drive of your computer, as many do. This takes a AAA battery; one battery lasts maybe 8 hours on average. ... Read review

RCA Lyra - You get what you pay for
Review of RCA Lyra RD1076 512 MB by GeekGuy

Advantages: Nice compact design
Disadvantages: Goes through batteries

This is an okay MP3 Player. Nothing makes you want to run around and scream I have a Lyra. You get what you pay for. I bought this for my 7 year old, because it was simple to use. (On/Off, volume and forward/back/skip.) He loves it, and it took him about 5 minutes to learn the controls. The biggest problem with this player is that it eats batteries, YES IT EATS batteries. You can put in a fresh battery, turn it off, wait three days and find that ...
...player is badly designed. The player doesn;t fit into the case well. If it does the controls are hard to find and adjust. You can't get the headphone jack plugged in without stretching the top cover in some weird way which then makes access to the controls impossible. But it does fit into your pants pockets nicely ...
