...first time I ever heard Linkin Park. Their next album Hybrid Theory was really good as well. I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. I was disappointed by the last album that was released, because it was not quite as edgy as the other ones. This album did prove to everyone that the lead singers in this band actually can sing very well. I recommend this band to anyone who loves rock and rap. You cant go wrong w/ this band! ... Linkin Park, in my opinion, is probably one of, if not, the best and most creative band in the world. This band easily shows talent and musicality, with great musicians, and of course, the greatest singer... Chester Bennington, who shocked everyone with his amazin lung capacity, which is fully portayed in his 18 second scream in the song given up, in the album minutes to midnight! ...Nine Inch Nails were a pretty decent band, but not one of my favorites for many reasons I will discuss in thie review. Firstly, their music composition capability was just brilliant, why do I think this? Because Linkin Park did a cover of their song, I hated the song, but when Linkin Park played it, it became my favorite song for a few weeks, and this just shows that the nine inch nails are good at writing music. On the playing side... they need a new singer, because the current singer sounds too shallow and soft, as a pose to the rough and scream capable singer they really need The guitarists and drummer are very good, no doubt about it, so overall its just the singer I have a problem with, if they change him and get someone similar to chester bennington (as if thats going to happen) they will be great!... ...Jay-Z is a brilliant rapper, who is able to adapt his vocal skills and strengths, to suit a variety and range of different music styles, a good example of this, being his collaboration tracks and album(s) with the nu metal band, Linkin Park, which has the rapper, Mike Shinoda, from Fort Minor. Jay Z, has produced a number of brilliant songs, however I think his strength is the ability to be able to rap along to metal and rock songs and still sound good, where his weakness lies with the productino quality of his own songs, which I dont think is as good, in fact, no where near as good as the album done with Linkin Park, which featured great remixes such as numb encore - feat Jay Z!... Advantages: Great lyrics to songs.
Disadvantages: Fairly unoriginaly musically, not much of a 'group'

...Mike Shinoda, fresh out of Liknin Park has had his shot at the true rap game, creating the fantastic Fort Minor group. In a sense this is all fairly unoriginal, a decent beat, and some rappers talknig in a 'cool' way. But this is Mike Shindoa, and his words aren't just 'any old' lyrics, they are creative, inspiring and are unmatched in terms of his rap competition. Seeing mike going solo with his own rap crew really lets us see his personal rapping talents in a better way than when he is with Linkin Park. His songs are very serious, and can draw a lot of emotion. They're about the road to fame, some are baout him as a person (kenji|), and all have great meanings to them. One thing I would say is that often Mike overshadows the other Fort minor members, as they don't really rap that much. Overall great new rap group.... Read review
