Decent medium range lens for 58mm cameras
Review of Canon EF telephoto zoom lens - 75 mm - 300 mm - Canon EF by
greekmiss
Advantages: Gets you close enough to objects; good on all Canon cameras 58mm
Disadvantages: Requires a good amount of sunlight
...and use it with my Canon XTi. The lens zoom goes from 75 - 300 and the F stops from 4 - 5.6. I usually use a various filters with this lens such as a Polarizer filter. the lens is 58mm in diameter.
Main usage for this lens is for objects that are in the distance but not too far. I use it a lot for photography of birds, butterflies and such which are moving or sitting still. I do find that the lens requires plenty of sunlight to capture the object ... ...Pictures usually come out clear - I know this has to do with the lens and not the camera as I have 2 other lenses I use on this camera without any clarity issues.
I paid about $75 for this lens which is much lower than the retail price that starts around $150. No problems with it's functionality. ...

A simply amazing lens
Review of Nikon Nikkor lens - 50 mm - Nikon F by
klashar
Advantages: f1.8 at 50mm, well made, large focus ring
Disadvantages: No autofocus motor
...in the camera body. My Nikon D40x doesn't have a motor and as such I need to focus manually with this lens, something I can live with. It only becomes difficult when the children start moving around quickly. Th focus ring is large unlike the 18-55mm lens and this makes manual focusing unproblematic.
Build quality
It is light, has a slightly plasticy feel to it, but it is definitely well made and at that price no one can complain.
Why ... ...Image quality is excellent and I can see no distortion.
Conclusion
It is well made, has a super aperture size at 50mm, has a nice large focussing ring, produces excellent results and is cheap. It should be on every Nikon owner's shopping list and I recommend it unreservedly. ...

The 'always on' lens
Review of Nikon Zoom-Nikkor zoom lens - 18 mm - 200 mm - Nikon F by
klashar
Advantages: Huge focal range, excellent VR, great quality
Disadvantages: Heavy, expensive
...now constantly attached to my Nikon D40x. Here's a list of things l like about it.
Pros
- on the whole, excellent picture quality
- 11.1X optical zoom, that's a lot
- excellent VR (image stabilisation) which is useful for being zoomed in and handheld shots in low light
- fast and silent auto-focus
- well built solid, reliable
- I haven't experienced lens-creep
Cons
- heavy. The Nikon D40x with the 18-55mm is weightless. With the ... ...likes light. Low light when zoomed in sends the light-meter hayware doing dusk shots. To get around this I just take a shot and review it on the display, or switch to raw to be able to fix the image afterwards.
- loses some sharpness at long focal lengths.
Conclusion
I'm really happy to have bought this lens, it would recommend it to anyone. If you're considering a Nikon, I urge you to forget buying one with the 18-55mm lens and get one with ...

Canon close-up lens
Review of Canon close-up lens by
dorian151
Advantages: Great quality
Disadvantages: can scratch easily
...smashed the lens on my Canon Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT, I was browsing through the shops for a new one, when I spotted this.
I bought it along with a new replacement lens and I must say, I did not think zoom lenses could et this accurate.
When I zoom using this lens, it is as if I was moving right up to the picture itself, without any sense of bein far away from it, and combined the my cameras great shutter speed I was able to produce some great ...

Superb and unique results!
Review of Canon fisheye lens - 15 mm - Canon EF by
KAS32
Advantages: Brand reputation and high-quality results
Disadvantages: Price if you're not prepared for the cost
...disappointed! I chose the Canon fisheye lens mostly due to its brand reputation and the fact that most of my other photography equipment is also made by Canon. In my opinion, I paid a fair price for it and it's a superb lens which gives me professional-level results! You will not be disappointed. ...
