Advantages: Thin, light weight, VISTA, SOUNG Quality, inbuilt Camera Disadvantages: Port placements, keyboard - Key placements are differents for some Keys
One of my friend using this Laptop and I also tried using it.. But frankly speaking - I don't like this LAPTOP at all.
That is because - # When I touch it, I don't feel as rich as DELL LAPTOP.
# It is very delicate
# Also Not comfortable; That is because all its ports are totally in a different place then most of the laptop has.
Its all Ports are on left and right side of the Laptop - so When we plug Internet Cable to it.. And If that is coming ... ...manage / keep / use.
SPEED and PERFORMANCE - It is GOOD for BUSINESS purpose. COST - It is quite LOW as compare to other LAPTOPS from other company.
SERVICE - GOOD
BACKUP - VERY GOOD
SOUND QUALITY - VERY GOOD
If you are buying this for HOME - It is good one.. Having IN BUILT CAMERA - QUALITY is GOOD
One thing I don't like is - VISTA, It comes with VISTA and not COMPATIBLE for XP - as Drivers need to install manually ...

Advantages: great quaility, many features Disadvantages: NONE
This laptop is very unique. It has lots of storage space in your hard drive and the keys press easily. The screen looks like a plasma screen and it has a little built in mouse right below the keys. There is also another little mouse in the middle of the keyboard. It is a little dot looking button that takes time to learn how to manever. This laptop is the one I use right now and honestly I really do think this is a good little machine. The picture ...

Advantages Built-in 3G (optional); keyboard light; build quality, excellent software Disadvantages A little heavy due to build quality; some will find them ugly
...I've owned Lenovo/IBM laptops now for about 5 years - starting with a T20 and moving up through the lines to a T61 type 6464
I work in IT and have done a lot of contract and consulting work which means I get exposure to a broad range of different laptops. My friends who also work in IT also have a variety of different laptops. I can honestly say that I have never been jealous of anyone else's laptop (except for one friend who has the X61 Tablet) in a very very long time - these machines are really great!
In this day and age there is very little to distinguish one manufacturer from another for the most part - it used to be a lot easier; a few years ago and you could look at the spec sheets of two laptops and you would immediately know which was the better machine. Now as battery life; CPU speed, RAM and HDD space and monitor sizes...

Advantages Subtle Design, Performance, Display Quality & Graphics Power Disadvantages Design may not suit everyone's taste
...and settings and still able to play the more demanding Supreme Commander.
The resolution is something you either love or hate, set native at 1920x1200 on a 15.4" screen it can either be an eyesore or a god send (thankfully for me it's the latter). Howvever the screens scales really well and you can drop down to the more easier to use wide screen resolutions without any loss of quality.
I specced my laptop up with 4gb memory, a 200GB Sata Drive, DVD RW Writer, Intel Wireless/Bluetooth Add-On, 1GB Intel Turbo Memory and the Intel T7800 2.6Ghz Core 2 Duo cpu which is blisteringly fast at everything I throw at it.
The design as I mentioned is not to everyone's taste but I love it, understated in the black chassis it speaks volumes i.e it's designed to work hard, not just look good sitting on your dining table....

Advantages Fast and reliable Disadvantages Screen could be better, not the best design
...I have had my laptop now for just over a month and I am now ready to report on my findings.
I will say at the start that this was supplied to me from my insurance company, rather than by choice. I was assured that it was a like for like replacement for my Toshiba. (evidently in the world of insurance Toshiba and Lenovo are spelt the same?). Needless to say the chances of me renewing my policy with them are somewhere between sweet FA and Nil.
However rant and rage over with here are my opinions and observations of the R61 thinkpad.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS
-------------------------------
When I first opened the box, my first impression was "Oh my god!, it's come from the Lada car factory. The design has all the finesse of a 1980's house brick mobile phone. Although I had seen the Lenovo name around, I had not linked it to the IBM brand...

Advantages: Super Fast, Fingerprint Recognition, Bluetooth, Widescreen Disadvantages: Price, No Trackball
...Ok, so the next item up for review in my office is something that I am very proud of. It is my LenovoThinkPadT61p. I have a regular Dell desktop computer, and up until a week ago, I had a Dell laptop. I did not like my Dell laptop at all! It was slow and lacked the features that I want in a laptop computer. After begging the guys in our IT department, they finally hooked me up with this beautiful piece of machinery!
Now for the good stuff:
-This model has a 15" wide screen display that looks amazing
-It has a 4.0 Ghz Core 2 Duo Processor
-It has a 250GB Hard Drive
-It has 2GB x 2 DDR2 SDRAM
-Its has a DVD/R, DVD/RW, CD/R,CD/RW Superdrive
-It has three USB 2.0, one ExpressCard slot, VGA, headphone / line-out, microphone-in, modem, 1Gb Ethernet
-It has wireless: WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 w/ EDR
-It has Windows Vista...

Advantages: powerful components, solid, many interfaces Disadvantages: too heavy, missing mini DVI port
... Thinkpad t61pDescription
I bought the t61p 3 monthes ago. It is a real power horse. Windows Vista runs very smoothely on this machine. The 1920x1200 screen resolution results in a very fine-grained text display. The t61p comes with a lot of interfaces including firewire, usb, wifi, card reader. The heat development (a problem in previous versions of the T-series) is moderate.
Thinkpad t61p Disadvantages
One big disadvantage though is the weight and size of this notebook: I think they could build it somewhat thinner and leighter (Lenovo has to learn from Apple here). Another disadvantage seems to me to be the lack of any DVI interface. Why should you be forced to buy the docking station just to use a DVI-only monitor.
Thinkpad t61p Advantages
The traditional advantages of thinkpad computers are all...
