Lenovo ThinkPad T60

Advantages: good performance, good battery life, light, and elegant design

I've been using this Lenovo ThinkPad T60 laptop for about two years. So far, I am really satisfied with it and haven't encounter any issues with its hardware yet. ...I bought this computer new 2.5 years ago and have been using it ever since daily. It has proven to be a powerful and reliable tool. The pros: small size and weight (only about 2.5cm thick and about 2kg in weight), traditional and nice - some might say ugly and boxy, but I like it - Thinkpad design, black color and non-glossy screen. The built-in wifi, bluetooth and IrDA are a bonus. The case is strong and solid, no creaks and bending. The cons: dim thinklight (amber instead of white on T series), no DVD burner (only DVD-CDRW combo), small standard battery (4 cell, replaced it with 7 cell). A minor drawback is the lid which attracts fingerprints easily (and no, it's not a titanium finish). All in all, the Z60t is a good machine and I would buy it again, even used.... Read review

...I bought this laptop on insurance, as my previous ThinkPad was stolen and I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to buy a different brand. In my opinion, the Lenovo ThinkPad is the best laptop you could possibly buy for all-round performance, reliability, and features, but I will endeavour to make this review as unbiased as possible, and I will split it into different sections for easy reading. LOOKS/DESIGN We all know looks do matter, and the ThinkPad is nothing if not distinctive in design. Unusually amongst modern laptops, the ThinkPad does not have sleek silver curves everywhere. Instead, it is a matt black cuboid, with a nice texture. ...audio/video libraries should perhaps look at an external hard drive. Portability- This laptop weighs around 3kg, which is heavy, but not too bad. Buyers looking for a laptop to take travelling should look at the 14" models. Extra features- This laptop came preinstalled with Lenovo's superb 'ThinkVantage' suite of programs which includes backup facilities and programs to configure connectivity options. Great stuff.
