Leica is presenting an MP special edition in honor of the 35th birthday of the Leica Historical Society of America (LHSA). Its surface finishing evokes the style of 1960s machinery and tools: top plate and base plate are given a gray Hammertone finish. The Hammertone finish is defined by its extreme robustness and its slight variation on each camera. In order to achieve the perfect, classic look, Leica applied the same "leather" cover material used on the 2000 0-series. In addition Leica offers a matching Summicron-M 35 mm/f2 Asph. in satin chrome finish with Hammertone lens hood and lens cap, as well as a corresponding Leicavit M winder.
