Very good value for your money
Review of Toshiba Satellite P200 by Goalkeeper06

Advantages: Performance, screen resolution, value for money
Disadvantages: Glossy top prone to scratching

The Toshiba Satelite is an excellent laptop and also a great value for its price. It comes with everything you need you can imagine. I particularly like the large 17 inch screen which has excellent clarity, even in bright light and the modern and professional look and feel that Toshiba seemed to have grasped when designing this baby. It is also surprisingly portable for a desktop replacement and actually weighs the same as many 15.4 inch laptops ...
...your lap. The speakers are also fine for every day use, whilst the built in web cam and bluetooth capabilities are real bonuses. I also like the fact that the fans and heat ducts on the side rather than underneath allowing for air flow even when resting on your lap. The only slight disadvantage is the outside top is prone to scratching and marking, even in a purpose built carrying case. I have overcome this by placing it into the case upside down ... Good show piece
Review of Sony VAIO NR498 by rajakrsnan

Advantages: Stylish
Disadvantages: Expensive

I like Sony Vaio for its cool looks. Sony Vaio is a fashion statement. I fell in love with it the moment i saw. I personaly use another brand but always carry a wish that one day i will lay my hands on a Vaio. The configuration is ok for me. Higher memory of 3Gb to 4GB is always preferable. my personal pereferance is for 4GB Ram which is ideal for todays operating systems. 250Gb HDD is ideal for stuffing as much into it. 5Hrs battery run time is ... Intel Atom for the Lenovo Ideapad
Review of Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Intel Atom Processor Speed: 1.6 by certifiedblogaholic

Advantages: Excellent speed for a netbook
Disadvantages: Still heats up the laptop in an hour

Lenovo recently entered the netbook market with the Ideapad S10. It uses the latest Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor used by the earlier-released netbooks, MSI Wind, Acer Aspire, and Asus Eee PC 901. Compared to my Asus Eee 4G with an Intel Celeron 900 MHz, the speed and performance of the Intel Atom accelerated dramatically. The first time I turned it on, Windows start-up was approximately just under 30 seconds. I hadn't expected a netbook to be this ...
...fast as the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. But then again, for a gadget this small, it was satisfactory. Lenovo's Intel Atom exceeded my expectations in terms of speed. Considering the $439 price tag, it is definitely good value for a portable laptop. If only it can perform without causing the laptop to heat up too much in a short time, it may spell doom for regular-sized laptops. ... Read review

Asus Eee PC 1000 Intel Atom
Review of Asus Eee PC 1000 Intel Atom by sanderman

Advantages: Good
Disadvantages: not maded for games

This notebook is good to have, it's very compact, you can use it for light things, like office, it isn't made for big games because the hardware of this Notebook is not made for that. The mark of the processor is intel, so that's very good, because intel is always good. You got 512 KB Cach memory and 1024 normal memory. YOu also got 160 GB Flash HD, that's very good, because the risc you lose data at a flash HD is very low. This notebook uses Windows ... Read review

Powerful Dell Laptop
Review of Dell Latitude D630 by curiousman

Advantages: Powerful processor
Disadvantages: Poor battery life, defective USB ports

...and I have to give Dell credit for that. It's a powerful laptop with its core 2 duo processor which is one of the reasons I liked it as my job requires me to run several computation intensive programs simultaneously. The graphic quality is average and so is its audio quality. The biggest problem I faced was with the USB ports. It has 4 USB ports but two of them stopped functioning after 3 months of use. It kind of annoyed me as I needed to use ... Read review
