...standard looking and with standard HP logo in the middle. For the weight, I feel it really consider heavy weight notebook, especially when need to bring the notebook to meeting. Another finding is this model of notebook not suitable for hibernate mode, most of the time it will not able to resume but for other model, it is ok. Unofficial statistic from my colleague as out team do use different NC series notebook.

As most HP computers, the HP NC8430 is tough and robust. It's suitable for rough usage. Although it's bulky and heavy, especially to female user, but it's durable and reliable. The cool feature I like about it is the finger print scanner, which could ease my login. My NC8430 is a leased laptop from HP, fully funded by my company. So far, the performance is perfect. Until recently, after using for almost two years, I have encountered several blue-screen ... ...It finally broke down just yesterday and it couldn't boot into Microsoft Windows. It's suspected to be bad sector in the hard drive which cause the boot sector damage. I was almost devastated because I have stored all the crucial information, including important engineering data inside it. Advantages: HDD is very secured, up to 4GB RAM, Comfortable layout, best recovery system I've tried Disadvantages: Bad keyboard, bad battery, screen colors are very average.
...special moments when XP crashes- HP provided with one of the best that I tried recovery systems.
Hate battery though- it started good, but now (after 1.5 years) holds only 40-50 minutes of more intense work. My old IBM held better even after 5 years.
I thought these were solid, but now one monitor holder started to crack, screen itself wobbles like mad- hate when that happens.

i was purchase the HP Compaq nx9420 few months before, its 17' screen business notebook, its your mobile workstation because its higher end configuration laptop, the core2duo processor with 1.83GHz Frequency 667 MHz FSB , & 2MB cache 17 inches screen gives nice performance its coming with ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics controller with 256 MB of discrete video memory which gives very good performance in 3D games but the hard disk is very less ...
