Advantages: doesn't crash and it is reliable
Disadvantages: not for gaming

Very good value for your money
Review of Toshiba Satellite P200 by Goalkeeper06

Advantages: Performance, screen resolution, value for money
Disadvantages: Glossy top prone to scratching

The Toshiba Satelite is an excellent laptop and also a great value for its price. It comes with everything you need you can imagine. I particularly like the large 17 inch screen which has excellent clarity, even in bright light and the modern and professional look and feel that Toshiba seemed to have grasped when designing this baby. It is also surprisingly portable for a desktop replacement and actually weighs the same as many 15.4 inch laptops ...
...your lap. The speakers are also fine for every day use, whilst the built in web cam and bluetooth capabilities are real bonuses. I also like the fact that the fans and heat ducts on the side rather than underneath allowing for air flow even when resting on your lap. The only slight disadvantage is the outside top is prone to scratching and marking, even in a purpose built carrying case. I have overcome this by placing it into the case upside down ... Toshiba Laptops- OK if they work
Review of Toshiba Satellite Pro A200-CH3 by Ttom4330

Advantages: Looks nice, good memory and price
Disadvantages: warranty was worthless

I had this notebook and it started to go bezerk. It wouldn't accept any typing and would only work with the mouse. I called the tech support because it was still under warranty. They told me it was a software glitch and tried to walk me through the fix. After about 1 1/2 hrs of frustration I was told to send it back. They sent a box to send it back with. I complied and within days of sending it UPS, and 2 days of calling them and asking about it, ...
...turned to frustration when I realized the notebook was as I sent it. I called thier 1800 # and was told that there was an unidentified liquid in the unit, most likely animal urine. My laptop stayed on nmy bedroom desk and I have a cat but he sure didn't "Go" on my desk. I was livid and asked why they didn't call or contact me to tell me or offer to allow me to pay for repairs. I was told they could fix it in a repair shop and the closest was in Rome ... Read review

Good show piece
Review of Sony VAIO NR498 by rajakrsnan

Advantages: Stylish
Disadvantages: Expensive

I like Sony Vaio for its cool looks. Sony Vaio is a fashion statement. I fell in love with it the moment i saw. I personaly use another brand but always carry a wish that one day i will lay my hands on a Vaio. The configuration is ok for me. Higher memory of 3Gb to 4GB is always preferable. my personal pereferance is for 4GB Ram which is ideal for todays operating systems. 250Gb HDD is ideal for stuffing as much into it. 5Hrs battery run time is ... Intel Atom for the Lenovo Ideapad
Review of Lenovo IdeaPad S10 Intel Atom Processor Speed: 1.6 by certifiedblogaholic

Advantages: Excellent speed for a netbook
Disadvantages: Still heats up the laptop in an hour

Lenovo recently entered the netbook market with the Ideapad S10. It uses the latest Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor used by the earlier-released netbooks, MSI Wind, Acer Aspire, and Asus Eee PC 901. Compared to my Asus Eee 4G with an Intel Celeron 900 MHz, the speed and performance of the Intel Atom accelerated dramatically. The first time I turned it on, Windows start-up was approximately just under 30 seconds. I hadn't expected a netbook to be this ...
...fast as the Intel Core 2 Duo processor. But then again, for a gadget this small, it was satisfactory. Lenovo's Intel Atom exceeded my expectations in terms of speed. Considering the $439 price tag, it is definitely good value for a portable laptop. If only it can perform without causing the laptop to heat up too much in a short time, it may spell doom for regular-sized laptops. ... Read review
