Basically, I like the screen, and I really have no complaints on this issue. This laptop was the first laptop that I have aquired 3 years back and I am still using it. In fact, I am now writing this review using the same laptop. This laptop comes with a Intel Celeron M 420 1.6Ghz processor. It uses a DDR2 PC5300 667mhz ram. It has 4 USB slots, a CDRW optical drive, LAN connection, ABG wireless network card and a 1394 slot. Some configuration may differ in your country.
From my understanding, the 3000 N100 is a budget laptop ... ...these facts, I began upgrading the processor (Core Duo) and ram (2GB to ensure that it is still able to satisfy my needs. Upgrading is really a breeze with this model as the processor and ram can be replaced by rmoving a few screws from the base. Great for adventurous laptop users.
The 14" wide screen panel is really awesome. Good for watching movies on the move.

Advantages: reliable, cheap, high quality Disadvantages: battery can not last too long
I have been using T42 for over four years. it is not heavy and very reliable. it can work normally for so long time and never hurt me. Every time I fly, I take it. In comparison, some laptops of my friends got great trouble when they traveled in airplanes. The weight is not heavy (2.4 kg) and I like the LCD monitor greatly because it does not reflect lights. The layout design is attractive. it has 512Mb ram which can be upgraded to 2 Gb. The size ... ...an independent graphic card so it is also good to play many games. Overall I like it very much. If ask me for the drawback, the only one I can think out is the relatively short battery time. currently it can support less 1 hour only. and new battery should last 1.5-2 hours depending on the usage conditions.
