The Acer Aspire 5100 contains adequate specifications at a fairly reasonable price. It is nowhere near the best laptop around, but it's enough for basic activities such as surfing the Internet or typing something up. Anything more than that: I wouldn't even bother.
The 5100 deal, money-wise, appears too good to be true - and it is. The laptop is functional for a year at most, and then begins slowing down and crashing frequently. It is not unusual ... ...kind unless you want to waste some time and end up getting frustrated.
The Acer Aspire 5100, with its low reliability, is very far from being the perfect computer and good only for basic work. If you want something serious and long-lasting, you're better off looking at something else. ...
