...the Intel-based MacBook pro from Apple is a great product! This is the second Mac I have purchased, to replace a Powerbook I bought 4 years ago and I'm very pleased with it. It's very fast, lightweight and Mac OSX is easy to use. I've had no problems with it so far. All my programs run well. Of course I use it mostly for design, writing and internet, so the programs I need work on it and work well.
People are always complaining how expensive Macs ... ...you buy a PC or PC laptop, your machine is basically done after a year or less. I used my previous powerbook for 4 years and it only showed signs of slowing down around the 4th year. I also had the extended warranty (Applecare) and it paid for itself 3x over. ...

Advantages: Thin, light, tightly built Disadvantages: Very poor screen that malkes this laptop useless.
...in my life. HP support replaced the screen - same thing. The problem is with the screen - not with the driver or graphics card. This laptop has "the best" 17" WUXGA anti-glare non-glossy display HP has to offer + NVIDIA Quadro 1600 graphics card with 512MB memory. Tried several drivers - same horrible quality. When attached to external monitor looks fine. But if I have to have an external monitor, - why use laptop? This is especially frustrating ... ...this laptop is touted by HP as ideal for 2D/3D graphics design and modeling. Nothing could be further from the truth.
This is simply false advertisement on HP part.
HP on-site "next day" "business critical" is support simply horrific. It took two weeks for the person to appear on site (he was supposed to be there next day after I reported the problem according to on-site service contract), did not fix the problem (well the problem is not fixable ...

The Apple Macbook Pro is the Ultimate Apple Laptop. The macbook pro is basically the best laptop that apple sells. A lot of people ask me, "why didnt u just buy a macbook?" This Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680 comes with Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 / 2 GHz procecssor with quite a high speed. This is easy for me to work around as I really need a good laptop as a full time user.
One thing I don't like about this laptop is that it is quite heavy, and not comfortable for me to bring around. It is expensive compare to its features, well, I don't see why it is so expensive, I mean not really valuable for me.

...of. It is my Lenovo ThinkPad T61p. I have a regular Dell desktop computer, and up until a week ago, I had a Dell laptop. I did not like my Dell laptop at all! It was slow and lacked the features that I want in a laptop computer. After begging the guys in our IT department, they finally hooked me up with this beautiful piece of machinery!
