My Acer came packaged with Vista Home Basic, 1 gig of ram, and an intel Celeron processor. The box said this was Made for Vista. That statement pure crap. Vista an a giant eye candy machine, made to show off flashy lights and neat effects, which is wear this specific laptop slowly gargles and dies. Vista uses 75 percent of your ram in order to maintain its pretty-ness, even with special effects turned down to a minimum. The processor ... ...of death more times then I can remember.
There is, however a savior for this machine. Windows XP. Upon searching the vast ends of the internet with the godly search engine, google, I managed to find a guide which provided me with everything I needed in order to 'downgrade' or in my case upgrade to XP. I have had this laptop now 6 month and this is the best laptop i have ever purchased and worth the money.
