Haier, .....our first large flat screen TV, ....and at a bargain sale price of $899. We could not have been happier when we brought it home. The picture looked good, the sound was great. The controls were easy to access should we decide not to use the remote. What a great bargain!! Now, "possible future customers," fast forward to one year and a few days later. ...will not turn off and remain off. As soon as you shut it off, it turns back on again. Is it the remote control? Nope! We wish it was!!! The solution, should you decide you still want a TV like this, ....... unplug it after you are finished watching it. Then when you want to watch it again, plug it in again. ...comparing LCDs and found the Sharp Aquos to be the best for our family living room. It looks like a beautiful black frame sitting above my fireplace. The picture quality is great even though it does not get used to the fullest since standard DVDs and cable are not 1080i.
